Nurton Developments has let 3,900 sq ft at Trigate on Hagley Road West, to a fast-growing integrated property company helping to create sustainable space for its clients.
Barker Associates is on an expansion programme, with the company looking to double its head count in the next year across its four UK offices.
Birmingham is the latest piece in the jigsaw, upgrading the offices as the business currently looks to recruit across in all disciplines including architects, engineers, and surveyors.
With a focus on the education sector, Rob Gould partner at Barker Associates said Trigate offers the perfect environment to enhance its capabilities, recruit and grow the business.
"We have been investing significantly in our people strategy to capitalise on demand for organisations decarbonising estates as we move towards Net Zero in 2030.
“We’re incredibly busy, but we think we’ve barely scratched the surface in the city and the West Midlands with the level of interest and recommendations coming forward.
“Our requirement was to find a location which was easily accessible and of a quality that would enable us to recruit and retain the right talent to achieve our ambitions.
Gould continued: “Post-Covid, it takes a lot more to persuade people to work in the office, so you must have a strong offering and be able to compete in the marketplace.
"While we promote agile working, it’s important when recruiting that people understand the values and culture of the company, which is something you can only get fully from working side by side.
“Trigate is landmark building, instantly recognisable on one of the main arterial routes into the city and recent upgrade makes it an attractive environment to work in.”
Nurton Developments has invested significantly over the past few years adding new reception area and amenities to promote employee wellbeing, with the addition of new showers, bike storage and breakout areas.
It offers 72,000 sq ft of space across seven floors, with three wings on each floor and is currently let to occupiers including Sky, Rightio and Communicourt.
David Dyas asset manager for Nurton Developments said: “It’s no surprise Trigate has attracted such a fast-growing company who is committed to creating sustainable space for its clients.
‘We’ve invested significantly in Trigate to make it more attractive to occupiers and their employees and it’s good that the building continues to perform well, for the high-quality working environment it delivers.
“With the flexible space options available from desk space in our business centre to whole floors, we’ve worked with many thriving businesses since we bought the building who have gone from strength to strength.”
Located just 10 minutes from the city centre, Trigate has a wide range of amenities on its doorstep including a Costa, Subway and Coop, with public transport also easily accessed to the M5 and M42 Stourbridge, Wolverhampton, and Birmingham City Centre.
