Managing director since 1996, David works closely with the team at Nurton and the newly acquired Equation Properties, to oversee the strategic long-term direction of both businesses and general day-to-day management of their portfolios.

Outside of work, David’s interests are varied with an appreciation of both the arts and the countryside. He is a keen theatre goer and collector of classic cars and also enjoys skiing and looking after a small herd of Longhorn cattle.

Paul Bradshaw

Chief Executive Officer

Paul is a chartered accountant and attained a senior managerial position in a top 20 firm before joining Nurton in 2006 as Finance Director, becoming CEO in 2021. He has a deep understanding of the real estate market and is now responsible for co-ordinating all activities across the wider group, tightly managing all of its structural elements and transactions. This includes overseeing several recent complex deals including a corporate acquisition and property disposals and setting up and managing joint venture activity.

His strong commercial bias ensures all projects are continually evaluated to ensure they are delivering to expectations.

Rupert Young

Development Director

Working with Nurton since 2008, Rupert’s background is in the major agencies specialising in investment funding and development work. He was MD of CB Richard Ellis’ Birmingham office after first working at CBRE in London and also a Director Cushman’s (DTZ).
His primary roles include sourcing acquisitions across both Norton’s Value Add & Strategic Land platforms & ensuring delivery of agreed business plans & asset management strategies. He also has a lead role in identifying joint venture partners.

Rupert’s outside interests include military history & medal collecting, rugby & exploring the outdoors with his two dogs.

Keith G Bradshaw

Non Executive Chairman

Keith qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1966 before spending nearly a decade in West Africa. He returned aged 30 to establish a number of private companies, the foremost of which, Takare plc/Care First Group plc (formerly Nursing Homes Ltd) was sold to BUPA in January 1998 for approximately £300 million. The company, the largest operator of its type in Europe, employs in excess of 14,000 people.
He continues to act as Non-Executive Chairman of Listers Group Ltd, Automotive Dealers, together with a number of other private companies.

He was privileged to serve as High Sheriff of the West Midlands in the year 2016/17 and was awarded an OBE in 2019.

Rob Bayliss

Financial Director


Rob brings to the business extensive experience in the real estate industry across a range of sectors, both on a financial and commercial level, with particular focus on investment raises, joint ventures, corporate disposals and complex corporate and deal structuring. He joined Nurton from Birmingham Properties Group, before that working with leading industrial developer, Roxhill Developments (acquired by Segro) and accountants Grant Thornton.

A keen all round sportsman, Rob enjoys skiing and travelling, also juggling the joys of a busy young family.

Keith Simkins

Construction Manager

Keith joined Nurton in 1996, having worked in both the commercial and residential sectors of the property market for over 30 years, gaining a broad experience of refurbishment, development and management.

At Nurton, he is closely involved with the delivery of its development sites and his 'hands on' approach, has enabled the company to deliver and maintain high quality properties, and to tailor bespoke CAT B accommodation solutions for new and existing customers, from initial enquiry through to handover.

In his spare time Keith has raised money for charity through his love of hill walking and mountaineering and when not enjoying outdoor pursuits, he’s touring on his motorcycle.

Ian Willicombe

Joint Venture Development Partner

Ian is a chartered surveyor specialising in development management, with a 30-year history in property working with PLC companies, as both client and consultant managing commercial and residential projects and mixed-use schemes.

For Nurton, Ian’s primary focus is managing its expanding strategic land interests and the ongoing development management of existing projects.

Outside work, Ian enjoys being in the countryside and joins David Bradshaw’s keen interest in classic cars, maintaining a small collection of cars spanning the 1930's to the 1970's.

David Dyas MRICS

Asset Manager

Working with Nurton since 2012, David is a chartered surveyor with 15 years’ experience in the commercial real estate sector, having previously worked with the UK arm of Dutch property company, Wereldhave N.V, handling a mixed property portfolio weighted towards offices & industrial.

At Nurton, David asset manages mainly its office portfolio and works in partnership with property agents to implement and oversee its property strategies and smooth management of its investments.

For leisure, David enjoys spending time with his family in the great outdoors.

Phil Stone

Operations Manager - Flexibase

Philip joined Nurton in 2006 to oversee the day-to-day business operations of the company’s flex space office model - Flexibase Ltd which operates in Birmingham and Derby. He is the go-to person for anything tech in the business, with 20 years’ experience in implementing and administering IT and telecoms systems, which makes him uniquely qualified to manage Flexibase’s virtual office service.

To relax, Philip enjoys woodworking and taking long walks with his dog.

Simon Grace

Managing Director - GB Developments Ltd

Simon Grace graduated in 1992 having obtained a degree (2:1) in Housing & Development. He joined FPD Savills in 1993 and dealt with residential agency, land acquisitions and sales, development consultancy and new build sales.

In 1999, Simon joined Colliers RH as a Director and became one of the market’s top residential investment and development consultants dealing with a wide range of product and developers within Central London. Simon then helped form Cushman & Wakefield Residential and was one of 6 founding Board Directors in late 2005.

Since 2006 Simon’s primary business activity has been as Managing Director of GB Developments Ltd. GB has purchased in excess of ?200m of central London residential apartments to date, a proportion of which have been sold and the balance held in the companies rental portfolio. In addition to its core transactional activity, GB also provides consultancy advice to developers on the strategy and implementation of new build product release within both the UK and Overseas markets.

Finance Team

Nurton has three accounts assistants Luke, Amy and Tom and their role and responsibilities are to support and process all of the day-to-day functions of the accounts department. They are all meticulous individuals with an eye for detail and ability to provide accurate and timely data to support their team. They bring together a variety of experience and are all currently training and in the final stages of acquiring their AAT qualification.

Outside of work Luke is a singer in a band as well as a rock and pop choir. Amy enjoys travel, socialising with friends and keeping fit whilst Tom enjoys socialising, puzzle solving, reading and watching films.

Simon Murray

Finance Assistant

Simon has a long- standing working relationship with the finance team and has supported Helen and the finance team many times over the years. During the last two years Simon has been assisting Helen directly with their audit process for the group and the compilation of the management accounts.

Outside of work Simon enjoys running and has a love of motorbikes.

Simon Holley is a veteran of the property world, a former chairman of the agency and development arm of CBRE, following its acquisition of Holley Blake, and the founding principal of Allyon Partners LLP. He has worked with some of the largest players in the UK market over the years and has unparalleled access to off-market deal flow. Simon has an impeccable history in shed agency and development and a tremendous recent track record of working in the South-East, delivering large to mid-box schemes.

Richard Batham-Read

Development & Investment Director, Equation Properties


Richard was a senior Development Director at Kier Property where he spent four years working on a variety of industrial, office & retail mixed-used schemes before joining Equation in 2020. He has worked both agency and client-side with roles at Wyncote Group Plc, Quoin Estates and 12 years as principal at Albourne Property PLC.

Richard Goodenough

Consultant, Equation Properties


Richard offers extensive experience in the industrial & logistic sectors & in-depth knowledge of Design & Build, having worked as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry for nearly 40 years. His career started working for Kyle Stewart Construction (now BAM), before joining Midland Oak Construction, Wilcon Construction and Stewart Construction, and then setting up his own QS/PM practice, Goodrich Consulting, which he sold in April 2017. He has since been a consultant to Goodrich and now Equation.

Dick Smallman

Construction Director, Equation Properties


Dick has intimate knowledge of the industrial & logistics market, having worked with most of the major logistics providers during his 35 years in the sector. Starting his career with Wilson Bowden, he went on to work with Kingspark, later acquired by Prologis, before joining Rosemound as Construction Director, later promoted to UK Construction Director, following its acquisition by Goodman. He since became a shareholder of Lynton Developments & Construction Director at Graftongate.
